The primary research interests of our group lie in the area of organic synthesis and methodology.  We are particularly excited about probing new strategies for asymmetric catalysis using organocatalysts, transition metals and multi-component systems.  One major criterion for selecting reactions for development is their usefulness in providing valuable intermediates for the synthesis of biologically active compounds.  We are further interested in the application of concepts from supramolecular chemistry to address current challenges in synthetic organic chemistry.
